you are misinformed in regard to Jasmine lee’s case. The main issue (why people are concerned about) is not about her race, nor about her naturalisation. It is more to do with verifying the factual information about her background, which I believe, is (and should be) an accepted process for any job applicants should undergo, not to mention if it’s a public officebearer’s role, in most civilised countries including Korea and US. When u comment on socially sensitive issues like this case I hope you be better informed and make fair and sensible comments while considering the impact of the information you are carrying to your followers. Most Koreans want to make a fair society for all Korean citizens and short & long term visitors. It is not useful to divert your follower’s attention from a fair question to something not —and something somewhat sensitive and currently unhelpful one. we are not asking people to cast a doubt on the suitability of a person with different racial background whether or not the person can be our representative politician. We are not even asking to adopt US’s presidential election style of qualifying only US-born people to be presidential candidates. Rather, most Koreans believe that minority communities such as immigrant groups need to be represented in our parliament as their population grows in the country. Also your comment could have be more insightful had you considered that Korea had maintained a single race country for a very very long time, definitely different from a country built upon invasion, killing of the native population, immigration, etc. Pls try not to be confused being a citizen with being a short/long term visitor of a country, which can bear very different perspective into social issues occuring in that country.
